The results of the NLDCS Art Competition – Being Me are in! Judging has taken place by professional deaf artist Ruaridh Lever Hogg who thought the entries were brilliant and his comments on the winning entries are below. Winners will be notified by email.

Ruaridh says Being Me by Mia aged 6 “I love the contract colour with the orange background to make the portrait stand out and I enjoy to look at the brushstroke style around the portrait.” Hani aged 7

Thalia aged 13: Ruaridh says “A sensitive drawing with fewer colours used. Shows her journey can be tough with barriers. I like the visual interpretation of paper crumbled into a spiral to the end of the train carriage.
