Did you know that the clocks will change time on Sunday 28th March! We will move one hour forward into British Summer Time (BST)!
Join North London Deaf Children’s Society on Sunday 28th March at 3pm (BST!) with your family for a fun online zoom session to bake a clock!
This language-rich practical session will be led in spoken English by Zac and Zibiah with Naomi signing in BSL. Naomi will show everyone some British Sign Language signs connected with our Bake A Clock recipe!
The session is open to children and young people of all ages.

Please let us know the names and ages of any children in your family joining (hearing siblings are welcome to join in too!) and any communication needs.
Ahead of the day, please make sure you have all the things you will need:
A grown up with you – you will need their help to put cakes into the oven!
An apron if you have one for any messy mixing!!!
Equipment:
- a mixing bowl
- a smaller bowl
- a fork
- two spoons
- a tray for baking 12 cupcakes
- 12 cup cake cases
- Oven set to heat up to 190 degrees Celsius
- Scales to weigh your ingredients
Cake Ingredients:
- 3 oz butter (softened – spreadable butter may be easiest)
- 4 oz sugar (brown or white)
- 2 eggs
- 8 oz self raising flour
- Splash of milk
You may also like to add in to your cake mixture (optional):
- any flavouring you like ( eg cinnamon, cocoa powder, vanilla essence)
- a handful of raisins or some frozen berries
Ingredients to decorate the cake (optional)
Butter and icing sugar to make butter icing (or you may prefer to spread with philadephia cream cheese!)
Grapes, blueberries or chocolate drops to decorate (if you put 1 berry on 1 o’clock, 2 berries on two o’clock, 3 berries on 3 o’clock you will need 78 berries!!!)
