Smoke alarm fittings – Do you know that you can request additional free safety devices to be fitted at home if you have a deaf member of the family?

The Mill Hill station can arrange for visiting families with deaf children to have smoke alarms fitted that use vibrating pads or flashing lights to alert people to danger.

Details of families attending who don’t live in the borough of Barnet will be passed on to their local fire station so that a fitting can be arranged.

Anyone living in London can book a fire safety visit from the London Fire Brigade
via https://www.london-fire.gov.uk/safety/the-home/home-fire-safety-visits/. A special alarm can be brought if you let them know a deaf person lives with you.
